Dr. Anna Simmons is a long-time animal lover and advocate. In fact, she started rescuing animals at a young age, and her passion for animal care and welfare has only grown over the years. Dr. Simmons grew up in Coppell, TX, with her four siblings and their many animals, from fish and rats to dogs and horses. She dreamed of being a vet since a very young age and feels so blessed to have been able to accomplish that dream.

Dr. Simmons attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she received a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Biology. She spent those college years working at various vet clinics and in animal rescue. She then spent two years working as a vet tech at a clinic in East Dallas. After gaining priceless experience as a tech, Dr. Simmons attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies, followed by a year of clinics at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. Once she experienced a Wisconsin winter, she returned to Texas and spent her time enjoying practicing medicine at several small animal clinics in East Dallas before joining the amazing Crossroads Pet Hospital team.

Dr. Simmons is married to her college sweetheart and together they have two beautiful baby girls (Anaiya Rose and Amelia Iris) with four pet kids, including three dogs (Tyli, Ivy, Nala) and one cat who thinks he is a dog (Pepper Saltzman). She and her husband live in Dallas and love to spend time playing with their kiddos, cooking, hiking, playing volleyball, painting, biking, snuggling their animals, traveling, and reading, among other things.

Dr. Simmons greatly looks forward to the opportunity to meet you and your pet! Come on into the clinic to get to know her better!
