Our Veterinarians

DR. MARISELA DIAZ | VETERINARIAN

Dr. Marisela Diaz was born in California and was raised in West Texas. Her passion for animals grew from spending summers in Mexico at her grandparents' farm. She graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Dr. Diaz later attended St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, and University of Minnesota for her clinic rotations-- where she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree. Dr. Diaz is especially interested in Dermatology and Internal Medicine.

When not at work, Dr. Diaz can be found gardening, growing her collection of house plants, traveling and spending time with her dogs: Nimbus, a tripod Pomeranian, Tuna Marie, a pit bull, and Olive, a mixed breed puppy.

Chelsea-McAnally

DR. CHELSEA MCANALLY | VETERINARIAN

Dr. Chelsea McAnally graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009 and completed her clinical year at Texas A&M University. She received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in 2005. Born and raised in Dallas, Dr. McAnally grew up very close with her family and friends.

Dr. McAnally's professional interests include feline and canine internal medicine, emergency medicine, and enjoys practicing exotic medicine as well. In her free time, she can be found scuba diving or cheering for the Dallas Cowboys! Otherwise, she can be found cuddling her adorable 5 cats!

DR. JENNIFER HEWITT | RELIEF VETERINARIAN

Dr. Jennifer Hewitt grew up in Vancouver and Calgary, Canada. She dreamt of working with animals since her childhood. She attended the University of Calgary and received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology with Honors and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees-- which were completed in 2008 and 2013.

Dr. Hewitt has worked in mixed animal practices, but primarily in small animal medicine for the last 7 years. Over the last few years, she has gained experience in emergency medicinal practice, as well.

Dr. Hewitt's special interests include dermatology. In fact, she has continued education in the field and has even practiced in a dermatology-exclusive clinic. She is very passionate about helping to improve the quality of life for the itchy patients!

During her free time, Dr. Hewitt can be found outdoors running, hiking or skiing. She enjoys cooking, gardening and traveling with her husband and 3 dogs.

Bridgette-PS

BRIDGETTE GARCIA | PRACTICE MANAGER

Bridgette is a born and raised Texas girl! Originally from Mansfield, she now resides in Melissa. She graduated from Mansfield High School and went on to receive her Veterinary Assistant Certification from the University of Texas at Arlington after two years at TCC.

Her love for animals started at a very young age. She would take home any and every animal that needed "saving," which is exactly how she ended up with most of her pets. After working as a veterinary assistant for three years, she moved into veterinary practice management! She has now been in veterinary medicine for 16 years-- she's never worked any other job that felt so rewarding!

When she's not working, she likes to spend time with all of her babies. She has a beautiful and talented twelve year old daughter, Hailey, and she has Frankie the rescue pittie, Quinn the rescue mutt and Flash the sulcata tortoise. She also enjoys crafting, karaoke and brunch with friends!

GUADALUPE ESTEVANE | VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Guadalupe was born and raised in Texas. She has always had a passion for working with animals. She graduated from Texas A & M with a degree in Zoology. She currently has 4 lovely cats. Guadalupe just acquired her Certified Veterinary Assistant certificate and is currently apply to tech school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

Briley (1)PSSS

BRILEY JOHNSON | VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Briley has about 4 years of tech experience and has been at Crossroads since December 2021. Her favorite part of being a technician is how hands on she gets to be. She especially loves internal medicine, emergency/triage/intensive care, blood draws and placing IV catheters.

She is the biggest dog person-- bully breeds have a special place in her heart. Currently, she has a frenchie named Remeron and a bully named Elli. She also has a tux-kitty named Freaky and an orange tabby named Jarvis.

Outside of work, Briley enjoys going out with her friends, going to concerts, and dog park dates with her friends/boyfriend and their pups. Briley is a Marvel fan, along with our receptionist, Elizabeth. You can spot them together on any movie release night!

Briley calls CPH her "Unicorn Clinic" as it's the most at-home she has ever felt in her veterinary career. She looks forward to meeting you and providing the utmost care for your kiddos!

PAULA ESTRADA | VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Paula is from Dallas, Texas, where she was born and raised. Paula has been in the veterinary industry for 5 years this May, but has been in the animal world for 8 years. She is known as the clinic mother, as she takes care of her team.

She has 2 dogs of her own, Ellie and Mazikeen, and 2 cats, Spyro and Skunk. Shes’s a Leo who likes long walks on the beach…wait, wrong info!

Haley Avit | CSR

Haley was born and raised in New York and spent 11 years of her life there. She grew up around horses and dogs most of her life, and has had a passion for animals since she was 5 years old.

In 2005, Haley and her family moved to Texas. The passion for animals grew bigger as she was able to work on a horse farm for summer of 2007. Haley has worked in customer service for 9 years and has worked extremely hard to get where she is at now. Haley is a free spirit that loves spending time with her dog Bella, traveling, hanging with friends, and hiking for scenery.

Crossroads Pet hospital has been a great influence on her life, and she is happy to be a part of this team.

Tracey Ransom | CSR

Tracey grew up as a Georgia Peach, but she has lived in Texas for 15 years. She has a loving husband, Jimmy, and two beautiful girls, Jessica and Sydney. She has been in Customer Service for 25 years, 7 of those years were in the Veterinary Industry. She has always had the strong love and compassion for all animals.

During her free time, Tracey enjoys hanging out with her family, hiking, playing ball with her dog and... living life to the fullest! She is so happy to be a part of such a wonderful team at Crossroads Pet Hospital.

Elizabeth Amaro | CSR

Elizabeth was born in Texas-- where she grew up all her life. Her passion for animals stemmed from childhood, where her compassion grew more as she would travel to Mexico and often see stray animals on the street. After encountering many helpless animals in need, she decided to work in the veterinary field.

She started working at a veterinary clinic as a receptionist, where she got the opportunity to cross train as a technician. She decided it was time for a change when she decided to join our family on June 2021. Like the rest of the team, she loves every pet she sees and treats them as their own!

On her free time, Elizabeth can be found painting, meditating, enjoying Marvel movies or hanging out with her two fur babies which she adores, Georgie and Bumpi. She has a positive energy that is contagious to clients!

Courtney-Kirkland (1)

Courtney Kirkland | Online Pharmacy Specialist

Courtney oversees the online pharmacy program for our veterinary practice, ensuring clients receive savings, convenience, and peace-of-mind when purchasing medications and products for their pet's optimal health and wellbeing.

Courney grew up in Brackettville, Texas. She has 7 years of experience in the veterinary industry working as a vet and kennel technician. Later, Courtney became a certified safety specialist and laser technician. At her last clinic, she was the on-site laser technician.

In her free time, Courtney enjoys spending time with her three children and their chocolate lab, Creek. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and fishing. During the spring, Courtney can be found on the diamond with her husband, coaching Little League Baseball.

Angelica has been a pet stylist for six years and makes both dogs and cats clean up and look fancy! She cannot wait to meet her new clients and their fur-babies and wants to make sure they will be in loving, caring hands.

iHop | Emotional Support Manager

Ihop is approximately 3 years old. He was living on the mean streets of Dallas, Texas, when he got hit by a car. He had a leg amputation, but that hasn’t stopped him from being the best cat ever! He enjoys begging for food, long naps in the cat tree, knocking over office plants and staring longingly at birds outside the window. He loves helping with medical records and other computer-related shenanigans, as well as more long naps in the cat tree.
