Meet Our Team

Meet the caring staff behind Crossroads Pet Hospital.

Dr. Russell Mitchell

Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Mitchell graduated from the University of Missouri Veterinary School in 2000 and has been practicing in the Dallas metroplex ever since. He lives in McKinney (where his family roots go back to 1845) along with his wife, two daughters, two cats, grand-dog, and several chickens and fish.

Bry

Veterinary Assistant

Briley has about 5 years of tech experience and has been at Crossroads since December 2021. Her favorite part of the tech life is the hands-on procedures, such as placing IVs, blood draws, and scrubbing in to assist in surgeries.

Currently, she has 4 dogs – a husky named Oshie, a bully named Elli, a frenchie named Remeron, and an APBT named Waffle House Casserole (Cassie). She also has 2 cats – Freaky and Jarvis.

Outside of work, you can find Bry at a hockey game, Marvel movies, or at the dog park with her friends/boyfriend. Go Stars!

Dr. Andersen

Dr. Andersen is thrilled to join the talented and compassionate group at Crossroads Pet Hospital!

She loves that she can provide above standard-of-care to your beloved furry family members, not only because of the cutting-edge equipment and breadth of treatment options available, but more importantly the human element at Crossroads.

In her decision to join Crossroads, she found a team that loves what they do, are knowledgeable and highly-skilled, and care for your furry kid as if he/she were their own. They are a trusted, vital extension of the care she provides.

After earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, she completed a year-long Internship focused on small animal medicine, surgery and emergency in a 20 Doctor specialty hospital.

Thereafter, she practiced strictly Veterinary Emergency Medicine for 15 years, before transitioning to a hybrid of General Practice and ER.

When not working, she enjoys Spending time with her boyfriend, family and friends, listening to music, bird watching, gardening, traveling, working out, meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Tracey Ransom

Client Service Representative

Tracey has been a receptionist in the vet industry for over 10 years! She has been at Crossroads since 2021 and would like to stay here until retirement. She wanted to be a veterinarian when she was a teenager, when her toy poodle was giving birth and she assisted her pet. Her passion is working with customers and their pets, she sees it as the best of both worlds!

Her animal family always has room to grow, so currently she has a corgi-doberman mix (Zoey Bear) who is in love with her ball and 2 tabby cats that have an understanding with Zoey (Lucky Mann & Eva Kaneeva).

During her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her husband (Jimmy) and her two adult daughters (Jessa & Sydney). She loves to sit on her back porch throwing the ball to Zoey, conversing with family & friends and sipping on coffee! When she cannot stand still, she is always working on some type of creative or needed project around her house.

Elizabeth Amaro

Client Service Representative

Elizabeth has been in the vet med field for 4 years and has been at Crossroads since June 2021. She has always loved animals since she was young, and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian to help animals after witnessing so many injured stray dogs in Mexico while visiting family.

She continues helping animals as a CSR by scheduling sick/injured pets and making sure they are getting all the love they need as if they were her own.
She has two dogs of her own – her first one is a poodle/jack russell mix named Georgie and her second is a german shepherd/labrador mix named Bumpi.

They enjoy when their mom sleeps in and stays with them the whole day so she can play fetch with Bumpi while Georgie chases Bumpi for the ball.

By day she is a CSR and by night, and her off days, she is mostly focused on herself and spending time with her family. Sometimes you can find her drawing random things or reading about the universe. You won’t really find her outside of work as she is an introvert, but if there is a Marvel movie coming out in theaters, you will definitely find her there with her sisters.

Paula Estrada

Veterinary Assistant

Paula was born & raised in Texas and has been teaching since 2017. She is fluent in sarcasm.
